Brew Method - AeroPress

I really enjoy the smooth taste of an AeroPress cup of coffee, and all things considered, it is a simple method and cleans up easily.

Here's a basic recipe if you haven't tried this method before. And obviously it is just a basic recipe...the "right way" is the way that gets you the cup that tastes perfect to you. I encourage you to experiment with different coffee-to-water ratios and brewing times to find your preferred taste.  This basic recipe is for the AeroPress Original which makes about a 10 fl oz cup.

What you'll need:

• 15g of freshly ground (medium/medium-fine) coffee beans

• 240g of water at about 198°F

• AeroPress coffee maker and filter

*a "heaping scoop" of coffee using the AeroPress scoop is about 15g

Step by Step Guide:

1. Rinse the AeroPress paper filter and place it in the cap. Screw the cap onto the AeroPress chamber and place on your coffee mug.

2. Add freshly ground coffee to the AeroPress chamber.

3. Pour the hot water over the coffee and fill to the number 4 circle on the chamber.

4. Stir the mixture for a few seconds and let it steep for about 30 second.

5. Insert the plunger into the chamber and press down slowly, using steady pressure.

6. Continue pressing until you hear a hissing sound, which indicates that all the water has passed through the coffee.

7. Remove the AeroPress from the mug and dispose of the spent coffee grounds.

8. Enjoy your freshly brewed AeroPress coffee!
